April 25, 2017

WILLEMSTAD- April 24, 2017– The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) is committed to guarantee that each visitor to the island will enjoy an unforgettable stay. For that purpose, in collaboration with the Curaçao Innovation & Technology Institute (CITI), the CTB introduced a certification program for the hospitality and tourism industry three years ago. The program’s objective is to, by means of an auditing system, promote and maintain quality among all businesses operating in the local tourism industry. A certification ceremony for Small Hotels and apartments offered to tourists was recently held in connection with this program. Three years ago, a number of diving operators were also audited and are now in line for a re-audit.

CITI is in charge of executing the CTB’s Sustainability Certification Program. Apartments offered to tourists will all be audited every two years, based on locally and internationally accepted quality standards.
